Gerhard and Marianne Pinkus emigrated from Germany to Los Angeles in the 1930s and began to collect art in the 1940s. Gladys Waddingham (1900-1997) was an author and Spanish teacher at Inglewood High School. The Gladys Waddingham collection contains materials collected during Waddingham's travels to Spain, Mexico, Guatemala, and other countries -- mostly during the 1950s.
